About this talk
For over a decade, EWB has worked with universities across Australia and New Zealand to deliver the EWB Challenge, engaging emerging engineers (as well as students in associated disciplines) in a range of real-world challenges.
Throughout 2021, over 10,000 students have been responding to a design brief based around appropriate technology to support First Nations' homelands and outstations, with a focus on the Centre for Appropriate Technology's (CfAT) work in the Cape York region of Far North Queensland.
The culmination of this year of work is the EWB Challenge Series Showcase. The event brings together top university student teams from across Australia and New Zealand, EWB staff, our community partner representatives, and industry. Students will this week present the most innovative, community-centred design ideas developed in response to the brief, and all event participants
Join us at the Awards as we celebrate a year of learning, focused work and collaboration in this year's EWB Challenge Series programs and present awards to the most outstanding student teams and researchers. You'll also hear from our CEO and representatives from the Centre for Appropriate Technology.
