About this talk

The Kitchen to community garden project addresses the build-up of white good waste in cape York by creating an upcycled community garden. This includes compost bins created from the drum of a washing machine/dryer and raised garden planters from fridges.

The project involves members of the community from day one, in both the creation of the garden, and the maintenance. Community activities can include workshops run by elders on traditional gardening practices, and integration with local schools.
